Hermandad
Santísimo Cristo Del Perdón Y La Caridad
It has its origins in 2002, when a group of locals organised themselves with the intention of founding a brotherhood that would hold a procession on Easter Mondays. In 2004, the first extraordinary meeting took place, where the first Governing Board was elected.
History
They hold a penance station on Via Crucis on Easter Monday. This brotherhood is based at El Calvario Hermitage, and there it is where their procession begins.
There are fourteen stations marked along the official route, at each of which a reading is recited. Its identity is silence, charity and reflection. Its members dress entirely in black, carrying torches that light the way for Christ. The only sound is that of the drums marking the pace of the Santísimo Cristo de Perdón and a trumpet that calls for silence at each station.
In its short history, it has become one of the references in the area, known for its austerity and purity.
Created by sculptor José Antonio Castro Vilchez in 2006, this image of marked realism is carried on a simple processional throne, a sign of the austerity that characterises this brotherhood, and is carried on the shoulders of braceros. A moment not to be missed is its descent and ascent to the Calvary.
